IL-3 protein is secreted by T lymphocytes, mast cells and osteoblasts. It plays an important regulatory role in hematopoietic progenitor cells and stimulates mature basophils, eosinophils and monocytes. In addition to hematopoiesis, it supports neuronal cell proliferation, survival, and bone homeostasis by inhibiting osteoclast differentiation.
