• Target:

  Anti-apoptotic protein which can regulate cell death by controlling caspases and by acting as an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase. Has an unusual ubiquitin conjugation system in that it could combine in a single polypeptide, ubiquitin conjugating (E2) with ubiquitin ligase (E3) activity, forming a chimeric E2/E3 ubiquitin ligase. Its tragets include CASP9 and DIABLO/SMAC. Acts as an inhibitor of CASP3, CASP7 and CASP9. Important regulator for the final stages of cytokinesis. • Assay Principle:

  The test principle applied in this kit is Sandwich enzyme immunoassay. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Baculoviral IAP Repeat Containing Protein 6 (BIRC6) . Standards or samples are then added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with a biotin-conjugated antibody specific to Baculoviral IAP Repeat Containing Protein 6 (BIRC6) . Next, Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. After TMB substrate solution is added, only those wells that contain Baculoviral IAP Repeat Containing Protein 6 (BIRC6), biotin-conjugated antibody and enzyme-conjugated Avidin will exhibit a change in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of sulphuric acid solution and the color change is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450nm +/- 10nm. The concentration of Baculoviral IAP Repeat Containing Protein 6 (BIRC6) in the samples is then determined by comparing the O.D. of the samples to the standard curve.
