Description
Rofecoxib is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that acts as a potent cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor. It displays 1,000-fold selectivity for COX-2 over that of COX-1 (IC₅₀s = 26 nM and > 50 µM in human osteosarcoma cells).
