A synthetic analog of Lovastatin (Cat. No. 1692-50, 250). Cholesterol lowering drug and a competitive inhibitor of HMG-CoA (3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A) reductase. Inhibits the biosynthesis of isoprenoids and prevents small G protein activation.
