Indapamide is a sulfonamide formed by condensation of the carboxylic group of 4-chloro-3-sulfamoylbenzoic acid with the amino group of 2-methyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-indol-1-amine. It has a role as a diuretic and an antihypertensive agent. It is a member of indoles, a sulfonamide and an organochlorine compound. It is functionally related to a benzamide.
