Species reactivity
Human (Homo sapiens), Rat (Rattus norvegicus); Due to limited knowledge and inability for testing each and every species, the reactivity of the antibody may extend to other species which are not listed hereby.
-
Specificity and cross reactivity
Recognizes rat MUC4. In normal tissues, stains stomach, colon, and the endothelial cells of small blood vessels and capillaries. In abnormal tissues, This antibody exhibits strong positive staining in colon polyps (3/3 specimens tested), colon carcinoma (4/4), and gastric adenocarcinoma (4/5). Lung adenocarcinoma and ovarian mucinous adenocarcinoma also demonstrated positive staining. Species cross-reactivity: human.; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.

Form Appearance
PBS, pH 7.4, 1% BSA, 0.1% sodium azide. Sourced in Ascites.

Storage and shipping
For long term storage, keep the antibody at -20 degrees Celsius. Short term storage of the antibody can be done at +4 degrees Celsius. Cycles of freezing/defrosting can damage the peptide chains of the antibodies thus reducing the activity.
-
Tested applications
Immunohistochemistry (IHC - Paraffin; IHC - Frozen)
-
Properties
If you buy Antibodies supplied by MBS Monoclonals they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.

About
Monoclonals of this antigen are available in different clones. Each murine monoclonal anibody has his own affinity specific for the clone. Mouse monoclonal antibodies are purified protein A or G and can be conjugated to FITC for flow cytometry or FACS and can be of different isotypes. Rats are used to make rat monoclonal anti mouse antibodies. There are less rat- than mouse clones however. Rats genes from rodents of the genus Rattus norvegicus are often studied in vivo as a model of human genes in Sprague-Dawley or Wistar rats.
-
Test
Mouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.
