  • Long description
Leukocytes adhere to the blood vessel endothelium during extravasation in postcapillary venules of lymph nodes. In addition, leukocyte adhesion occurs in the capillaries and small venules at any site in the body after onset of inflammation. This response is immediate and involves a cascade of adhesion receptors. At the endothelial surface members of the selectin and immunoglobulin superfamilies participate in this cascade. Selectins are C-type cell surface lectins that play a role in leukocyte adhesion to the blood vessel wall endothelium. E-selectin (CD62E) is an endothelial cell specific selectin that is expressed only after activation with proinflammatory cytokines. In vitro experiments have shown that IL-1, TNFα and bacterial wall components like lipopolysaccharides induce the transcription of E-selectin in a NFκB dependent signalling cascade. E-selectin has been associated with blood vessel endothelium in diverse inflammatory situations.
  • Antibody come from
UZ4 is a Rat monoclonal IgM antibody derived by fusion of SP2/0 Mouse myeloma cells with spleen cells from a Lewis Rat immunized with LPS-activated mlEND1 cells expressing E-selectin at their cell surface.
  • Other description
Each vial contains 1ml of culture supernatant of monoclonal antibody containing 0.09% sodium azide.

    Rat anti E-selectin / CD62E Antibody
  • Antibody is raised in
    Rat
  • Antibody s reacts with
    Human,Mouse
  • Antibody s reacts with these species
This antibody doesn't cross react with other species
  • Antibody s specificity
UZ4 recognizes the minimal amino acid consensus sequence CXKKKL present in the lectin domain of both murine and Human E-selectin.
  • Research interest
    Cell adhesion,Immunology
  • Application
    Flow Cytometry,Immunofluorescence,Immunoprecipitation,Western blotting
  • Antibody s suited for
UZ4 is suitable for immunoblotting, ELISA, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry (dilution 1:25). To analyze E-selectin protein in frozen sections we refer to the anti E-selectin monoclonal antibodies UZ5, UZ6, and UZ7. For a functional UZ4 antibody that inhibits leucocyte adhesion to murine and Human activated endothelial cells refer to the E-selectin antibody for in vivo use which does not contain azide.
  • Storage
Store at 4°C, or in small aliquots at -20°C.

  • Warnings
This product is intended FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY, and FOR TESTS IN VITRO, not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures involving humans or animals. This product contains sodium azide. To prevent formation of toxic vapors, do not mix with strong acidic solutions. To prevent formation of potentially explosive metallic azides in metal plumbing, always wash into drain with copious quantities of water. This datasheet is as accurate as reasonably achievable, but Nordic-MUbio accepts no liability for any inaccuracies or omissions in this information.
  • Description
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
  • About
Rats are used to make rat monoclonal anti mouse antibodies. There are less rat- than mouse clones however. Rats genes from rodents of the genus Rattus norvegicus are often studied in vivo as a model of human genes in Sprague-Dawley or Wistar rats.
