Long description
Calcium/calmodulin kinase II (CaM Kinase II) is a multi-functional calcium and calmodulin-dependent protein kinase that mediates cellular responses to second messengers. The antibody was raised against a synthetic phosphopeptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding the phosphorylated-Thr305 found in rat brain CaM Kinase II. Autophosphorylation of Thr305 inhibits the activity CaM Kinase II. Phosphorylation at this site appears to reduce the association of CaM kinase II with the PSD and reduce LTP and learning.

About
Rabbits are used for polyclonal antibody production by nordc. Rabbit antibodies are very stable and can be stored for several days at room temperature. nordc adds sodium azide and glycerol to enhance the stability of the rabbit polyclonal antibodies. Anti-human, anti mouse antibodies to highly immunogenic selected peptide sequences are" monoclonal like" since the epitope to which they are directed is less than 35 amino acids long.
