Form
The Mouse Leptin triple anatagonist was lyophilized from a concentrated (0.65mg/ml) solution with 0.003mM NaHCO3.White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
-
Storage_stability
Lyophilized Leptin Antagonist Triple Mutant Mouse Recombinant although stable at room temperature for several weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18 degree C. Upon reconstitution at > 0.1 Leptin mutant mg/ml and up to 2mM and filter sterilization LEP mutant can be stored at 4 degree C or even room temperature for several weeks making it suitable for long term infusion studies using osmotic pumps. At lower concentration addition of a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA) is suggested. Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.

Description
The antagonist receptor ligand binding will be in contrast with agonist activity. MyBioSource produces more antagonist and receptor related products as 1.

Gene
Human or mouse Leptin (from Greek λεπτός leptos, "thin") the "satiety hormone", is a hormone made by adipose cells that helps to regulate energy balance by inhibiting hunger. Leptin is opposed by the actions of the hormone ghrelin, the "hunger hormone". Both hormones act on receptors in the arcuate nucleus of the hypothalamus to regulate appetite to achieve energy homeostasis. ELISA kits and peptides and antibodies are available.

Test
Mouse or mice from the Mus musculus species are used for production of mouse monoclonal antibodies or mabs and as research model for humans in your lab. Mouse are mature after 40 days for females and 55 days for males. The female mice are pregnant only 20 days and can give birth to 10 litters of 6-8 mice a year. Transgenic, knock-out, congenic and inbread strains are known for C57BL/6, A/J, BALB/c, SCID while the CD-1 is outbred as strain.
