SpecificityThis item recognises Munc-18 phosphorylated at serine 515, a 67 kDa member of the STXBP/UNC-18/SEC1 family. It is neural specific, expressed in the brain, spinal cord and at very high levels in axons. Munc-18 is crucial to calcium-dependent neurotransmitter release, facilitating synaptic vesicle docking and fusion. It inhibits the formation of soluble N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive fusion protein attachment protein receptor (SNARE) complex by binding syntaxin 1 preventing the other components (synaptobrevin and synaptosomal associated protein of 25 kDa (SNAP-25)) from binding. The function of Munc-18 is regulated by the phosphorylation of serine 515 by protein kinase C. Munc-18 is also involved in the onset of female puberty through its regulation of glutamate release.

Storage_stabilityStore at 4 degree C or at -20 degree C if preferred. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. This product should be stored undiluted. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody. Should this product contain a precipitate we recommend microcentrifugation before use. Shelf Life: 12 months from date of despatch.
-
Tested_applicationWestern Blot (WB)*
-
DescriptionThis antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.

AboutRabbits are used for polyclonal antibody production by MyBioSource. Rabbit antibodies are very stable and can be stored for several days at room temperature. MyBioSource adds sodium azide and glycerol to enhance the stability of the rabbit polyclonal antibodies. Anti-human, anti mouse antibodies to highly immunogenic selected peptide sequences are" monoclonal like" since the epitope to which they are directed is less than 35 amino acids long.
