SpecificityRecognizes the outer membrane protein of some strains of Neisseria gonorrhoeae. No reaction with human cell surface or plasma components has been observed. However, some binding to Fc receptors may occur.
-
PurityPurified Purified ascites. The characteristics of each lot are tested by electrophoresis, specific immunofluorescence assay and flow cytometry.
-
FormSupplied as a liquid in 0.5ml 25mM Tris-HCl, 0.4M sodium chloride, pH 8.0, 0.2% BSA and 0.1% sodium azide.
-
Storage_stabilityMay be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. For long-term storage, store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months at -20 degree C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.

ConceptScope note: The technique of washing tissue specimens with a concentrated solution of a heavy metal salt and letting it dry. The specimen will be covered with a very thin layer of the metal salt, being excluded in areas where an adsorbed macromolecule is present. The macromolecules allow electrons from the beam of an electron microscope to pass much more readily than the heavy metal; thus, a reversed or negative image of the molecule is created.
