Host organismMouse (Mus musculus)
-
Source organismHuman (Homo sapiens)
-
Species reactivityHuman (Homo sapiens); Due to limited knowledge and inability for testing each and every species, the reactivity of the antibody may extend to other species which are not listed hereby.
-
Specificity and cross reactivityRecognizes human eosinophil major basic protein (14kD) irrespective of the stages of eosinophil activation and can be regarded as a "pan-eosinophil" marker. Recognizes secreted pro-form of MBP (Pregnancy associated MBP, 23.8kD) and mature form found in the matrix of the eosinophil large specific granule (13.8kD). Does not crossreact with equine, mouse or rat MBP.; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.
-
Purification methodAffinity Purified by Protein A affinity chromatography.
-
Form AppearanceSupplied as a liquid in PBS, pH 7.2, 1mg/ml BSA. No preservative added.
-
ConcentrationN/A

Storage and shippingStore the antibody at +4 degrees Celsius for short term storage.. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. For optimal long term storage, the antibody should be kept at -20 degrees Celsius. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
-
Tested applicationsELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
-
PropertiesIf you buy Antibodies supplied by MBS Monoclonals they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
-
DescriptionSodium azide NaN3 is often used to prevent antibody degradation in 0,02% W/V concentrations. MBS Monoclonals supplies azide free antibodies on request. Recently MBS Monoclonals made this Eosinophil Major Protein ( ) Antibody available without azide. It will stick less and is more suitable for ELISA or in vivo studies. However you need to store the @VV@ frozen and ship on dry ice. Basic proteins pH>7 are often produced recombinant and shouldn’t be precipitated by formic acid buffer.
