Scientific context
Goat anti-Dognkey IgG (H&L) is a secondary antibody, conjugated to FITC, which binds to Donkey IgG (H&L) in immunological assays.
-
Notes
Antibody purity is > 95% based on SDS-PAGE.Affinity purified using solid phase Donkey IgG .Antibody is supplied in 10 mM Sodium Phosphate, 0.15 M Sodium Chloride, pH 7.2, 1 % (w/v) BSA, Protease/IgG free. 0.05% (w/v) Sodium Azide is added as a preservative.Based on IEP, this antibody reacts with: - heavy (gamma) chains on donkey IgG - light chains on all donkey immunoglobulins . Based on IEP, no reactivity is observed to: - non-immunoglobulin donkey serum immunoglobulins .

Properties
This agisera Fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) antibody is currently after some BD antibodies the most commonly used fluorescent dye for FACS. When excited at 488 nanometers, FITC has a green emission that's usually collected at 530 nanometers, the FL1 detector of a FACSCalibur or FACScan. FITC has a high quantum yield (efficiency of energy transfer from absorption to emission fluorescence) and approximately half of the absorbed photons are emitted as fluorescent light. For fluorescent microscopy applications, the 1 FITC is seldom used as it photo bleaches rather quickly though in flow cytometry applications, its photo bleaching effects are not observed due to a very brief interaction at the laser intercept. agisera FITC is highly sensitive to pH extremes.

Host
Goat, The goat polyclonal antibodies are directed against human genes or rabbit or mouse IgGs (H +L) chain primary antibodies and conjugated for detection. It are very good secondary antibodies that are affinity purified and have a good affinity themselves too. Often KLH is coupled to the antigen so anti KLH can be present in the vial.

Concept
Scope note:
A method for the study of certain organic compounds within cells, in situ, by measuring the light intensities of the selectively stained areas of cytoplasm. The compounds studied and their locations in the cells are made to fluoresce and are observed under a microscope.
