Specificity and cross reactivityTIM-1 Clone MBS239187-10 specifically recognises mouse Tim-1 (T-cell immunoglobulin mucin 1), a cell surface glycoprotein and member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, which was first identified as the hepatitis A virus cellular receptor (HAVCR), and is highly expressed in the liver (isoform Tim-1a) and the kidneys (isoform Tim-1b). _x000D__x000D_Tim-1 is highly expressed by activated CD4+ T cells, and acts as a positive/negative co-stimulatory molecule of T cell proliferation, cytokine production and tolerance abrogation, and is the receptor for Tim-4, expressed on APCs. Tim-1 expression is greater on Th2 than Th1 cells, and studies have shown that interaction between Tim-1 on Th2 cells and Tim-4 on dendritic cells (DCs), enhances Th2 cell function, and have implicated Tim-1 as a critical player in the development of atopic disease, and in particular airway hypersensitivity. _x000D__x000D_Polymorphic forms of Tim-1 are associated with increased susceptibility to asthma, eczema and Rheumatoid arthritis. _x000D__x000D_Clone MBS239187-10 has been shown to promote Th2 responses, and inhibit antigen-specific T cell proliferation, in contrast to the agonistic function of many Tim-1 antibodies.; Since it is not possible to test each and every species our knowledge on the corss reactivity of the antibodies is limited. This particular antibody might cross react with speacies outside of the listed ones.

Storage and shippingStore the antibody at +4 degrees Celsius for short-term storage and at -20 degrees Celsius for long-term. the antibody should be stored undiluted. Storage in frost-free freezers is not recommended. Repeated freeze - thaw cycles may denature the peptide chains of the antibody and therefore should be maximally avoided. If there is a precipitate in the vial we recommend you to briefly microcentrifugate it prior to use. Shelf Life: 18 months from date of dispatch.
