About recombinant protein
FGF-10 is a heparin binding growth factor that belongs to the FGF family. Proteins of this family play a central role during prenatal development and postnatal growth and regeneration of a variety of tissues, by promoting cellular proliferation and differentiation. FGF-10 is most related to KGF/FGF-7 and is expressed during the development and preferentially in adult lungs. It signals through the FGFR 2b. Recombinant human FGF-10 is a 19.3 kDa protein consisting of 170 amino acid residues.

Activity
Determined by the dose-dependent stimulation of thymidine uptake by BaF3 cells expressing FGF receptors. The expected ED50 is = 0.5 ng/mL corresponding to a specific activity of = 2 x 106 units/mg.
-
Keep at
The lyophilized FGF-10 recombinant protein is stable for at least 2 years from date of receipt at -20˚C. Reconstituted FGF-10 is stable for at least 3 months when stored in working aliquots with a carrier protein at -20˚C. As with any protein, exposing FGF-10 recombinant protein to repeated freeze / thaw cycles is not recommended. When working with proteins care should be taken to keep recombinant protein at a cool and stable temperature.
