G418

• Description :

  G418, an aminoglycoside antibiotic, is produced by Micromonospora rhodorangea. G418 blocks polypeptide synthesis in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes by inhibiting the elongation step. It is also used to select for genetically engineered cells. The molecular weight is 692.7 g/mol.
