Anti-TOM40-1/2 | Mitochondrial import receptor subunit TOM40-1/2
- Background: TOM40is the central component of the receptor complex responsible for the recognition and translocation of cytosolically synthesized mitochondrial preproteins. Functions as the transit peptide receptor together with TOM22 , at the surface of the mitochondrion outer membrane and facilitates the movement of preproteins into the translocation pore. TOM40 is directly involved in the pore formation.
