Streptococcus thermophilus was isolated from rhodian staRoom Temperatureer. It is a Gram-positive bacterium, and a fermentative facultative anaerobe. It tests negative for cytochrome, oxidase, and catalase, and positive for alpha-hemolytic activity. It is non-motile and does not form endospores.
