Background
Unlike TSA, Sirtinol does not inhibit class I and class II HDACs, indicating that it is a selective sirtuin inhibitor. The downregulation of SIRT1/2 expression plays an important role in the regulation of breast cancer apoptosis; thus, SIRT1/2 may be a novel molecular target for cancer therapy.
