Biotin Antibody

  • Description:

This antibody recognizes both the free and protein-conjugated (either soluble or cell bound) form of biotin. The mAb is highly specific to biotin and shows no cross-reaction with other structurally related compounds. It has a very high affinity and is excellent for use in various amplification techniques. In some applications, localization of biotinylated probes with avidin produces unacceptably high background staining. Biotin antibody may be substituted to decrease this noise.
  • Specifications:

    Flow cytometry: 1-2ug/10^6 cells, Immunofluorescence: 1-2 µg/mL, Western blot: 1-2 µg/mL, Immunohistochemistry (FFPE) : 1-2 µg/mL for 30 min at RT
  • Host:

    Mouse

Biotinylated sheep immunoglobulin was used as the immunogen for this Biotin antibody.

  • Applications Notes:

The concentration stated for each application is a general starting point. Variations in protocols, secondaries and substrates may require the mAb to be titered up or down for optimal performance.1. No special pretreatment is required for the immunohistochemical staining of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues.
