Histone deacetylases act via the formation of large multiprotein complexes.HDAC5 is involved in muscle maturation by repressing transcription of myocyte enhancer MEF2C.During muscle differentiation, it shuttles into the cytoplasm allowing the expression of myocyteenhancer factors
