Emtricitabine

• Description :

  Emtricitabine is a cytidine analog that acts as an inhibitor of reverse transcriptase, preventing replication of HIV-1 (EC50 = 10-20 nM) and hepatitis B (EC50 = 10-40 nM). It is activated through multistep intracellular phosphorylation by various cellular kinases. Emtricitabine is an antiviral drug used for the treatment of HIV infection.
