Description
10-Deacetylbaccatin III is a precursor in the semisynthetic synthesis of paclitaxel; acts as an inhibitor of microtubule assembly (IC₅₀s = 23 and 0.9 µM for porcine brain and Physaram microtubules, respectively). 10-Deacetylbaccatin III also selectively inhibits growth of L. donovani intracellular amastigotes within J774 murine macrophages (IC50 = 70 nM), while having no effect on macrophage morphology.
