Tau (Phospho-Ser356) Colorimetric Cell-Based ELISA Kit
Description:
The Tau (Phospho-Ser356) Cell-Based ELISA Kit is a convenient, lysate-free, high throughput and sensitive assay kit that can monitor Tau (Phospho-Ser356) protein expression profile in cells. The kit can be used for measuring the relative amounts of Tau (Phospho-Ser356) in cultured cells as well as screening for the effects that various treatments, inhibitors (ie. siRNA or chemicals), or activators have on Tau (Phospho-Ser356) .Synonyms:
Microtubule-associated protein tau; Neurofibrillary tangle protein; Paired helical filament-tau; PHF-tau; MAPT; MAPTL, MTBT1, TAUGene Name:
MAPTUniProt:
P10636Reactivity:
Human, Mouse, RatTissue Specificity:
Expressed in neurons. Isoform PNS-tau is expressed in the peripheral nervous system while the others are expressed in the central nervous system.Applications:
ELISADetection Range:
> 5000 cells/wellFunction:
Promotes microtubule assembly and stability, and might be involved in the establishment and maintenance of neuronal polarity. The C-terminus binds axonal microtubules while the N- terminus binds neural plasma membrane components, suggesting that tau functions as a linker protein between both. Axonal polarity is predetermined by TAU/MAPT localization (in the neuronal cell) in the domain of the cell body defined by the centrosome. The short isoforms allow plasticity of the cytoskeleton whereas the longer isoforms may preferentially play a role in its stabilization.Molecular Weight:
