Human Chitotriosidase/CHIT1 ELISA Kit PicoKine®
- Background: Chitotriosidase encoded by the CHIT1 gene is a member of the chitinase family that is selectively expressed in activated tissue macrophages. This gene is mapped to 1q32.1. Chitotriosidase is secreted by activated human macrophages and is markedly elevated in plasma of Gaucher disease patients. The expression of chitotriosidase occurs only at a late stage of differentiation of monocytes to activated macrophages in culture. Human macrophages can synthesize a functional chitotriosidase, a highly conserved enzyme with a strongly regulated expression. This enzyme may play a role in the degradation of chitin-containing pathogens. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described for this gene.
- Description: Human Chitotriosidase/CHIT1 ELISA Kit PicoKine® (96 Tests). Quantitate Human CHIT1 in cell culture supernatants, serum and plasma (heparin, EDTA). Sensitivity: 50pg/ml. The brand Picokine indicates this is a premium quality ELISA kit. Each Picokine kit delivers precise quantification, high sensitivity, and excellent reproducibility. Only our most reliable and effective kits qualify as Picokine, guaranteeing top-tier results for your assays.
