Mouse YM1/Chitinase 3-like 3/CHI3L3 ELISA Kit PicoKine®

  • Background:

Chitinase 3-like 3, also known as ECF-L and Ym1, is a secreted 377 amino acid lectin that binds heparin and GlcN oligomers. This gene is mapped to 3 F2.2; 3 46.49 Cm. CHI3L3 is produced primarily by macrophages during inflammation. ECF-L shares homology with chitinase family proteins, but lacks enzymatic activity.
  • Description:

Mouse YM1/Chitinase 3-like 3/CHI3L3 ELISA Kit PicoKine® (96 Tests) . Quantitate Mouse Chil3 in cell culture supernatants, serum and plasma (heparin, EDTA, citrate) . Sensitivity: 50pg/ml. The brand Picokine indicates this is a premium quality ELISA kit. Each Picokine kit delivers precise quantification, high sensitivity, and excellent reproducibility. Only our most reliable and effective kits qualify as Picokine, guaranteeing top-tier results for your assays.
  • Synonyms:

    Chitinase-like protein 3; Beta-N-acetylhexosaminidase Ym1; Chitinase-3-like protein 3; ECF-L; Eosinophil chemotactic cytokine; Secreted protein Ym1; Chil3; Chi3l3; Ym1
  • Gene Name:

    Chitinase-like 3
  • UniProt:

    O35744
  • Reactivity:

    Mouse
  • Cross Reactivity:

There is no detectable cross-reactivity with other relevant proteins.
  • Immunogen:

Expression system for standard: NS0; Immunogen sequence: Y22-Y398
  • Tissue Specificity:

Expressed in peritoneal cavity macrophages and in peritoneal and bone marrow-derived neutrophils. Abundantly expressed in bone marrow, with moderate levels detected in gastric antrum, spleen and in alveolar macrophages in lung. Not detected in brain, heart, liver, kidney, stomach, intestine, skeletal muscle, ovary, testis, thymus and lymph nodes (at protein level) . Detected at low levels in bone marrow, spleen, thymus and lung. Barely detectable in intestine, kidney and coecum.
  • Applications:

    ELISA
  • Sample Type:

Cell culture supernatants, serum and plasma (heparin, EDTA, citrate) .
  • Detection Range:

    156 pg/ml - 10,000 pg/ml
  • Sensitivity:

    <50 pg/ml
  • Function:

Lectin that binds saccharides with a free amino group, such as glucosamine or galactosamine. Binding to oligomeric saccharides is much stronger than binding to mono- or disaccharides. Also binds chitin and heparin. Has weak hexosaminidase activity but no chitinase activity. Has chemotactic activity for T-lymphocytes, bone marrow cells and eosinophils. May play a role in inflammation and allergy.
  • Storage Conditions:

Store at 4°C for 6 months, at -20°C for 12 months. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles (Ships with gel ice, can store for up to 3 days in room temperature. Freeze upon receiving.)
  • Other Gene Names:

    Chil3
  • Subcellular Location:

Nucleus envelope. Secreted. Rough endoplasmic reticulum lumen. Cytoplasm. Cytoplasmic granule.
  • Protein Name:

    Chitinase-like protein 3
