- Relevance: Interleukin 2 (IL 2), also termed T-cell growth factor, is a member of the cytokine family which includes IL-4, IL-7, IL-9, IL-15 and IL-21. Each member of this family has a four alpha helix bundle. IL-2 signals through the IL-2 receptor, a complex consisting of tree subunits, termed alpha, beta and gamma. The IL-2 R gamma is shared by cytokine receptors of all members of cytokine family. Mature mouse IL2 shares 56% and 73% aa sequence identity with human and rat IL2, respectively. IL-2 is produced by CD4+ T cell, CD8+ T cells, gamma δ T cells, B cells, dendritic cells and eosinophils, and plays a vital role in key function of the immune system, tolerance and immunity, primarily via its potent stimulatory activity for T cells. Thus, IL2 may be a key cytokine in the natural suppression of autoimmunity.
- Endotoxin: Less than 1.0 EU/µg as determined by LAL method.
- Purity: Greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
- Activity: Yes
- Bioactivity: The specific activity of recombinant Mouse IL-2 as measured in a cell proliferation assay using CTLL‑2 mouse cytotoxic T cells is ≥1×107 IU/mg.
- Length: Full Length of Mature Protein
- Form: Lyophilized powder
- Buffer: Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered 20 mM Sodium Citrate, 5% Trehalose, pH 4.5
- Reconstitution: We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20℃/-80℃. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
- Function: Produced by T-cells in response to antigenic or mitogenic stimulation, this protein is required for T-cell proliferation and other activities crucial to regulation of the immune response. Can stimulate B-cells, monocytes, lymphokine-activated killer cells, natural killer cells, and glioma cells.
- Molecular Weight: 17.4 kDa
- Storage Conditions: The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself. Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20℃/-80℃. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20℃/-80℃.
