Goat anti Rat IgG1 IgG2a IgG2b IgG2c (Fc specific)
- Background: The reactivity of the antiserum is directed to the Fc subunit of the IgG molecule including all subclasses. In immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion, using various antiserum concentrations against normal rat plasma and serum, a characteristic precipitin line is obtained which shows a reaction of identity with the precipitin line obtained with purified IgG. No reaction is obtained with purified IgA, IgM and IgG/Fab fragments or any other serum protein. In immunoelectrophoresis and double radial immunodiffusion to identify the presence of IgG; as secondary antibody to precipitate the immunoglobulin in normal rat serum; to prepare an immunoadsorbent for the production of Ig-free rat serum, plasma or non-Ig preparations.
- CAS Number: 9007-83-4
- Host: Goat
- Clone: Polyclonal
- Source: Purified normal IgG, including all known subclasses, isolated from pooled rat serum. Freund’s complete adjuvant is used in the first step of the immunization procedure.
- Assay Principle: Precipitation assays. In immunoelectrophoresis use 2 μl or equivalent against 120 μl antiserum. In double radial immunodiffusion (Ouchterlony) use a rosette arrangement with 10 μl antiserum in a 3 mm diameter centre well and 2 μl serum samples (neat and diluted) in 2 mm diameter peripheral wells.
- Form: Delipidated, heat inactivated lyophilized stable whole serum; No preservative added, as it may interfere with the antibody activity; Total protein and IgG concentration in the antiserum are comparable to those of pooled goat serum; No foreign proteins added; It is reconstituted by adding 1 mL sterile distilled water, spun down to remove insoluble particles, divided into small aliquots, frozen and stored at or below -20°C
- Precautions: This product is intended FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY, and FOR TESTS IN VITRO, not for use in diagnostic or therapeutic procedures involving Humans or animals. This datasheet is as accurate as reasonably achievable, but Nordic-MUbio accepts no liability for any inaccuracies or omissions in this information.
- Storage Conditions: The lyophilized antiserum is shipped at ambient temperature and may be stored at +4°C; prolonged storage at or below -20°C; Prior to use, an aliquot is thawed slowly at ambient temperature, spun down again and used to prepare working dilutions by adding sterile phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2); Repeated thawing and freezing should be avoided; Working dilutions should be stored at +4°C, not refrozen, and preferably used the same day; If a slight precipitation occurs upon storage, this should be removed by centrifugation; It will not affect the performance of the product
