Cytochalasin B is an organic heterotricyclic compound, that is a mycotoxin which is cell permeable an an inhibitor of cytoplasmic division by blocking the formation of contractile microfilaments. It has a role as a metabolite, a mycotoxin, a platelet aggregation inhibitor and an actin polymerisation inhibitor. It is a cytochalasin, a lactam, a lactone and an organic heterotricyclic compound.
