• Storage Conditions :

  May be stored at 4 degree C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20 degree C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.

• Specificity :

  Recognizes human fibroblasts in tissue as well as cultured fibroblasts. On skin sections the antibody reacts with stratum basal epidermal cells. The antigen appears to be a marker for mesodermally dervied (mesenchymal) human connective tissue and tumors derived from such tissue (e.g. fibrosarcomas) {Haynes et al, 1984}. Useful for the assessment of thymic epithelial culture contamination with fibroblasts, and the identification of cells of mesodermal origin in the fetus.
