Thidiazuron (TDZ) Solution 1mg/1ml
- Description: Thidiazuron (TDZ) is a plant growth regulator and a synthetic diphenylurea cytokinin widely used in plant tissue culture applications to promote shoot regeneration, organogenesis, and somatic embryogenesis
- CAS Number: 51707-55-2
- HS Code: 2934.99
- Applications: Used alone or in combination with other hormones for efficient multiplication of in vitro plants. TDZ can be used in culture media to promote seed germination Used in agricultural and home gardening. TDZ is often used in combination with auxin (IAA) in culture media to achieve a balance between shoot and root development.
- Assay Protocol: Follow the given steps to prepare the tissue culture media using PCT’s supreme grade agar: Prepare liquid tissue culture media using PCT’s MS or DKW media, or any other alternative media based on your plant. Add sugar based on the quantity of media you’re making (generally for 1-liter media 30 grams of sugar is added), 1 ml/L PPM, and 3-4 grams per liter of gellan gum or 6-8 grams per liter of agar. Then, add the desired quantity of the plant hormone. Autoclave the medium for 20 minutes at 15 psi and 121°C. Your media is ready!
