• Description:

  (±)-β-Hydroxybutyrate is a ketone body which accumulates in blood during fasting when the liver switches to fatty acid oxidation or in Diabetic Ketoacidosis. It is an inhibitor of class I histone deacetylases (HDACs). It increases global histone acetylation in mouse tissues. It Inhibits HDAC and increases expression of genes encoding oxidative stress resistance Foxo3a and Mt2.
