Description
Elbasvir is a potent inhibitor of Hepatitis C virus (HCV), non-structural protein 5A (NS5A). It is active against many HCV genotypes with EC₅₀ values in the picomolar range (0.0003 nM-3.4 nM). It is used in combination with other antiviral drugs to treat HCV. In silico screens have shown that treatment with elbasvir, alone or in combination with other anti-viral drugs could block replication of SARS-CoV-2.
