Description
LB Agar is used for the cultivation of E. coli in molecular microbiology techniques. This medium provides nutrients for the bacteria so that it does not have to make its own, resulting in thriving colonies of E. coli. Additionally, LB Agar is useful since it does not preferentially grow one type of bacteria over another.
