Description
Tetracycline is a polyketide antibiotic produced by Streptomyces species (Actinobacteria) . It acts by inhibiting protein synthesis through binding to the 30S small ribosomal subunit, thereby preventing the attachment of charged aminoacyl-tRNA and blocking translation.
