Phase Shifter

• Description :

  Four electrolytic capacitors 470mf /63V assembled in series and parallel combition fitted inside a plastic moulded case (90x90x42) mm approx. with a provision to use each capacitor individually via. 4mm sockets fitted on the case. It is used in conjunction with a pair of coils and an a.c source to provide a moving magnetic field and with a magnetic coil to introduce a 90o phase shift between current and potential difference when setting up investigation into the behaviour of rotating magnetic fields. We can also use it in electronic circuit where a large value, unpolarised capacitor is required.
