Description
Cyclochlorotine is a mycotoxin that can be extracted from the yellow rice infectant Penicillium islandicum Sopp. Cyclochlorotine promotes glycogenolysis, inhibits glycogen synthesis, affects fat synthesis and protein synthesis in liver cells. Cyclochlorotine exhibits chronic toxicity in liver that induces liver fibrosis and cirrhosis in mouse models. Cyclochlorotine exhibits carcinogenicity[1].
