Description
Sennoside is an orally active anthraquinone glycoside that can be used as a stimulant laxative. Sennoside exerts prokinetic and secretory effects via activation of 5-HT4 receptors in the myenteric plexus and inhibition of Na+/K+-ATPase activity. Sennoside is promising for research of chronic constipation[1].
