Description
Neopatulin is a redox isomer and pivotal biogenetic precursor of the potent antibiotic patulin, which is produced by numerous fungal species. Neopatulin can be synthesized through Lewis acid-catalyzed aldol reaction or 2-formyl-1,3-dithiane with 2- (tert-butyldimethylsiloxy) -4-[ (tert-butyldimethylsiloxy) -methyl]furan[1].
