It contains an azide group that can participate in a copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction (CuAAc) with molecules possessing an alkyne group. Additionally, it can undergo a strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction (SPAAC) with molecules containing DBCO or BCN groups.
