  (R) -Lanicemine ((R) -AZD6765), the less active R-enantiomer of Lanicemine, is a low-trapping NMDA channel blocker. It exhibits a binding affinity (Ki) of 0.56-2.1 ?M for the NMDA receptor and shows inhibitory concentrations (IC50s) of 4-7 ?M and 6.4 ?M in CHO and Xenopus oocyte cells, respectively. It has been associated with antidepressant effects [1].
