It contains an azide group that can undergo copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) with molecules containing alkyne groups. Additionally, it participates in strain-promoted azide-alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) with molecules possessing DBCO or BCN groups.
