Description
1-BOC-4-METHYLPIPERIDINE (CAS: 123387-50-8) is a classic monosubstituted Boc-protected piperidine aliphatic heterocyclic intermediate. It adopts a stable saturated six-membered piperidine ring structure, with a single methyl group substituted at the 4-position of the ring, and the secondary amine on piperidine ring is completely protected by tert-butoxycarbonyl group. This compound has good solubility in common organic solvents including DCM, THF and ethyl acetate, stable chemical properties under neutral and weak alkaline conditions. The Boc protecting group can be efficiently removed under mild acidic conditions without damaging the 4-methyl substituent on the ring. It is one of the most commonly used standard building blocks for constructing piperidine-containing drug molecules in daily organic synthesis.

Applications
1. Central Nervous System Drug Intermediates:1-BOC-4-METHYLPIPERIDINE (CAS: 123387-50-8) is widely used in the synthesis of central nervous system targeted drugs. The 4-methyl modified piperidine skeleton improves molecular lipophilicity, effectively helping drug molecules cross the blood-brain barrier and enhancing in vivo bioavailability. 2. Conventional Organic Synthesis Building Blocks: Synthetic laboratories commonly use 1-BOC-4-METHYLPIPERIDINE (CAS: 123387-50-8) for Boc deprotection, N-alkylation, amide coupling and other routine reactions. It is a universal starting material for mass synthesis of various piperidine derivatives. 3. Anti-inflammatory and Analgesic Drug Precursors: This methyl-substituted Boc piperidine is applied in preclinical research of non-opioid analgesics and anti-inflammatory small molecule drugs. The saturated ring structure improves metabolic stability of drug candidates and reduces in vivo toxic and side effects. 4. High-throughput Screening Fragment Library: Added to standard nitrogen heterocyclic fragment libraries, 1-BOC-4-METHYLPIPERIDINE (CAS: 123387-50-8) provides standard monosubstituted piperidine fragments to enrich compound library diversity and improve lead compound screening efficiency.
