Description
COD TEST KIT SPECIFICATION 1. INTRODUCTION Chemical oxygen demand (COD) reflects the pollution degree of water caused by reducing substances. The reducing substances in water include organic matters, nitrites, ferrous salts, sulfides, etc. The potassium permanganate method is simple and quick and can be easily used to the rapid determination of COD. 2. PRINCIPLE Based on basic potassium permanganate method. Under alkaline condition, oxidize the reducing substances (except for nitrites) by potassium permanganate. The color depth is proportional to the concentration of chemical oxygen demand (COD) 3. TEST RANGE 0~8 mg/L 4. APPLICATIONS This test kit can be used to measure COD in water sample with relatively low concentration of organic matters such as irrigation water, drinking water, boiler water, surface water and ground water, etc. 5 . T EST P ROCEDURE S I. Rinse the test tube 1-2 times by sample and fill the tube with sample to 15mL mark. II. Add a packet of COD r eagent to the tube. III. Cap the tube and shake to dissolve. Let stand for 3~6 min. IV. Open and place the tube on the blank of standard color card, then the content of COD is measured by visual comparison of the sample solution with the standard color card . 6 . NOTES Ø The pH value of the water sample to be measured must be within 5.0-8.0; Ø The temperature of the water sample to be measured must be within 10-40°C (10°C:6min;20°C:5min;30°C:4min;40°C:3min) . Ø Please compare the color in well-lit place and clean the test tube after use; Ø Store it in a dry and cool place. Keep out of the reach of children. Don’t keep it together with food and drug. Don’t put it into the fire.
