Cynomolgus Monkey Leukemia Inhibitory Factor (LIF) ELISA

  • Background:

Leukemia inhibitory factor, or LIF, is a member of the IL-6 family. LIF affects cell growth by inhibiting differentiation. When LIF levels drop, the cells differentiate. Leukemia inhibitory factor derives its name from its ability to induce the terminal differentiation of myeloid leukemic cells, thus preventing their continued growth. Other properties attributed to LIF include: the growth promotion and cell differentiation of different types of target cells, influence on bone metabolism, cachexia, neural development, embryogenesis and inflammation. p53 regulated LIF has been shown to facilitate implantation in the mouse model and possibly in humans. Removal of LIF pushes stem cells toward differentiation, but they retain their proliferative potential or pluripotency. LIF is typically added to stem cell culture medium to reduce spontaneous differentiation.
  • Description:

The Cynomolgus Monkey LIF ELISA contains capture antibody, standard, and detection antibody for development of a Cynomolgus Monkey LIF ELISA. The antibodies have been determined to function in an ELISA with the standard provided. Optimal buffers, concentrations, incubation times, incubation temperatures, and methods for the ELISA have not been determined. This allows for complete flexibility to provide optimal dynamic range and sensitivity based on your sample type. Alternate names include LIF, CDF, DIA, HILDA, MLPLI, leukemia inhibitory factor, interleukin 6 family cytokine, LIF interleukin 6 family cytokine. The quantities of components provided are not matched. Components may also be purchased separately. For research use only.
  • Homology:

Cercocebus atys (sooty mangabey), Chlorocebus sabaeus (green monkey), Colobus angolensis palliates (Angolan Colobus), Macaca fascicularis (crab-eating macaque), Macaca mulatta (Rhesus monkey), Macaca nemestrina (pig-tailed macaque), Mandrillus leucophaeus (drill), Papio anubis (olive baboon)
