Targeted to sites of DNA damage through interaction with poly (ADP-ribose) and functions to regulate chromatin during DNA repair. Able to catalyze nucleosome sliding in an ATP-dependent manner. Helicase activity is strongly stimulated upon poly (ADP-ribose) -binding.
