May be involved in ribosome assembly. Mediates cap- independent translation of specific viral IRESs (internal ribosomal entry site) (By similarity) . Regulates cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. Isoform 1 suppresses apoptosis whereas isoform 2 promotes cell differentiation (By similarity) .
