Background
The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand family. This cytokine is a ligand for receptor TNFRSF18/AITR/GITR. It has been shown to modulate T lymphocyte survival in peripheral tissues. This cytokine is also found to be expressed in endothelial cells, and is thought to be important for interaction between T lymphocytes and endothelial cells.
Overview
A DNA sequence encoding the human TNFSF18 (NP_005083.3) (Gln72-Ser199) was expressed with the Fc region of mouse IgG2a at the C-terminus.

The recombinant human TNFSF18 consists of 361 amino acids and predicts a molecular mass of 40.9 kDa. It migrates as an approximately 45.5 kDa band in SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.
Storage Conditions
In general, recombinant proteins are provided as lyophilized powder which are shipped at ambient temperature. Bulk packages of recombinant proteins are provided as frozen liquid. They are shipped out with blue ice unless customers require otherwise. Stable for 1 year at -20°C or below from date of shipment. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and opening the cap. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
