  • Immunogen:

The immunogen is a synthetic peptide directed towards the C-terminal region of Human NANOS2
  • Target:

NANOS2 plays a key role in the sexual differentiation of germ cells by promoting the male fate but suppressing the female fate. It represses the female fate pathways by suppressing meiosis, which in turn results in the promotion of the male fate. It maintains the suppression of meiosis by preventing STRA8 expression, which is required for premeiotic DNA replication, after CYP26B1 is decreased. It regulates the localization of the CCR4-NOT deadenylation complex to P-bodies and plays a role in recruiting the complex to trigger the degradation of mRNAs involved in meiosis. It is required for the maintenance of the spermatogonial stem cell population. Not essential for the assembly of P-bodies but is required for the maintenance of their normal state.

  • Reconstitution:

All conjugated antibodies should be stored in light-protected vials or covered with a light protecting material (i.e. aluminum foil) . Conjugated antibodies are stable for at least 12 months at 4C. If longer storage is desired (24 months), conjugates may be diluted with up to 50% glycerol and stored at -20C to -80C. Freezing and thawing conjugated antibodies will compromise enzyme activity as well as antibody binding.
