Cy5-PEG-DSPE (MW 1000) is a fluorescent phospholipid conjugate that self-assembles into micelles or liposomes in aqueous solution. It is widely used in vitro for labeling proteins and nucleic acids in microscopy, and in vivo for constructing delivery vehicles such as lipid nanoparticles for mRNA and DNA vaccines.
